Verne Busby CV
Verne Busby has lived and worked most of his life in Edmonton, Alberta. He received his BA in 1972 and Secondary Education Teaching Certificate in1974 from the University of Manitoba. In 1975 he received his permanent British Columbia secondary teaching certificate. Returning to Edmonton he furthered his design experience with a two year Design Arts diploma from Grant McEwan College Design Arts (1977) and further continued design studies at the University of Alberta.
In 1981, after several years of advertising agency experience in design and illustration, Verne Busby joined Bella Totino forming Totino Busby Design Inc., an independent design and illustration studio. Totino Busby Design attracted a wide range of clientele interested in visual designranging from brand identity, printed works, environmental graphics, web design, illustration, broadcast design and animation.
In the last decade Verne has gained representation in seven private galleries in Western Canada for his painting.
Verne has taught part time at the University of Alberta Faculty of Art and Design, Visual Communications. Verne also continues to moderate life drawing sessions biweekly at the Edmonton Wecan Society, Harcourt House Annex.
