DIVERSE ENERGY - The Art of Peg McPherson, Linda Willard, and Helen Rogers

Diversity hits VASA in an energetic storm for the month of September when three of its non-resident members exhibit their work in the studios.  While VASA’s new location in the Hemingway Centre is home to the studios of many resident members, the space is vibrant with activity and an amazing space to exhibit work for residents, non-residents and the public alike.  Peg McPherson’s  acrylic paintings burst with strong contrasts of values that tie in beautifully with the colourful  mixed-media work of Helen Rogers.  Finishing off the trio is the clay work of Linda Willard, with wall pieces that invoke the energy of the outdoor firing process.  As VASA get their feet planted firmly beneath them their horizons look ever brighter.  With hopes of opening up more space in the future for additional classroom programs and more mixed-media studio space, members of VASA can’t be more thrilled with having an artist-run studio in St. Albert.  Electricity is in the air, and “Diverse Energy,” opening September 6th from 6 to 9, is just the beginning.   The Hemingway Centre, a partner of ArtWalk, is located at the corner of St. Anne St. and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue.

Making art absorbs and reflects energy.  Artists bring  ideas, materials and, ultimately, a product to an exhibition, the result being a diversity of energy which the viewer is invited to experience.

DIVERSE ENERGY reflects our journey to bring our art to you.
